The Intel Core i7-2600K-based Supernova i726n580 Sli offers exactly the sort of performance we’ve come to expect from Eclipse. It scored 170 points in WorldBench 6, while its PNY-branded nVidia GeForce GTX 580 delivered silky-smooth graphics in our games tests.

A 60GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD ensures that file response is equally quick. Storage is supplemented with the Eclipse Supernova i726n580 Sli's 2TB hard drive.

But while the Eclipse Supernova i726n580 Sli is fast, it isn’t the fastest PC in our chart. Its OCZ Agility 3 SSD is inferior to the Arbico’s Vertex 3, and its standard GTX 580 goes head to head with two factory-overclocked rivals.

An 8GB allocation of DDR3 RAM is fitted to an ASRock P67 Extreme4 motherboard. This board offers four USB 3.0 ports, four 6Gbps SATA connections, an Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and easy overclocking options. The Eclipse Supernova i726n580 Sli also supports SLI.

Should you wish to overclock the CPU, the Eclipse Supernova i726n580 Sli's Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 CPU cooler is a pleasing inclusion. Although the power supply is rated at only 600W, it’s a reputable and efficient OCZ model.

The 23.6in full-HD HKC monitor is a popular choice in our PC charts, but inferior to the BenQ and Asus screens elsewhere. A set of Creative speakers and a subwoofer are also supplied with the Eclipse Supernova i726n580 Sli.
