CyberLink DVD Solution full review
Everything you ever needed to manipulate digital media on one shiny little disc - well, that's one way to describe this package. It's full of features to help you play back, edit, burn, store and copy DVD content.
CyberLink will be a name familiar to anyone who's ever owned a PC with a DVD player, as the firm's PowerDVD is often provided for movie playback. This tool is provided as part of DVD Solution, along with eight other products. You don't have to install them all, just tick the ones you want on the list provided - a useful touch if you already have PowerDVD.
As well as PowerDVD 5.0 Express, CyberLink's package includes PowerDirector 3.0 Express, for previewing and capturing video footage, and PowerProducer 2.0 Gold Express, which enables you to capture and edit photo and video.
Power2Go DVD covers photo and video capture, as well as DVD burning. You also get the presentation tool MediaShow, PowerDVD Copy, PowerBackup, the MP3 tool MusicMatch and, finally, the
image-editing application Photo Now.
Several tools do much the same as one another, and you may own some already. The whole product feels like a bit of a taster menu for CyberLink. It even features an upgrade screen with adverts for all its latest products.
For all of its limitations, however, CyberLink DVD Solution does bring a lot of functions together under one roof. The PowerStarter feature guides you to the product you need via a task-based icon menu.
