Trip Advisor Android app full review

There are certain types of people in this world who seem to enjoy planning holidays more than actually going on holidays, if you're one of these people, then you're going to love the Trip Advisor Android app.

Trip Advisor is all about travellers helping travellers out. It relies and thrives on people coming back from their holiday and posting reviews and pictures of where they stayed, where they ate and what they did. It's a genius, because the reviews are not paid for by the hotels/restaurants and the pictures are far from professional, so it give you a true representation of what the place you're going to is actually like. And because the site's DNA is user generated content to the core (possible a mixed metaphor) the site is a beast that will keep growing and growing, as millions of holiday makers rant or rave about how their holiday was - while millions more digest it all.

What this app does, is give you access to over 50 million reviews, pictures and nearby attractions in a format that is perfect for your mobile device. That's about it (apart from the flight search engine that didn't work). The content is no different to the mother website, all that you're getting is a new way to access the content. Which isn't a bad thing, but if you were expecting something Angry Birds-esque, then you're going to be disappointed. The main differences to the website are that the app gives you the option to save your favourite hotels and restaurants and also search for what is nearby using your handsets GPS - although, when we tested what restaurants were nearby this app suggested we dine at council run car park…

Oh and you can write your own reviews with this app too!
