Despite being the world's largest wearable maker, there's a decent chance you haven't heard of Huami. The Chinese manufacturer has ties to Xiaomi and even builds the company's Mi Band fitness trackers, but it also releases offerings under its own Amazfit brand and the Amazfit Ares is the newest member to the family.
What is the Amazfit Ares?
Huami also says that the Ares will offer 14 days of standard use, up to 90 days in watch-only mode or last for 23 hours whilst using GPS tracking.

When and where is the Amazfit Ares available?
As of its April 2020 unveiling, the Ares remains a China-only offering at this point but based on the rollout of the rest of the Amazfit line, there's a strong chance we'll see the watch go on sale in the company's other main international markets too.
In China, the Ares is currently available for pre-order in black or Army Green (translated from Chinese) with the latest ship date cited as 1 June 2020.
How much is the Amazfit Ares?
Based on its Chinese pricing at CNY¥499, the Amazfit Ares costs approximately £60/US$70/AU£110, which is on-brand based on the feature set and the pricing of the company's existing fitness trackers and activity-tracking watches, making it an affordable alternative to wearables from the likes of Garmin and Polar.
