Evernote includes a basic text editor, but if you’re looking for an app that will let you download, edit, and share larger documents, Quickoffice Pro might be the app for you. Quickoffice Pro is a great tool to download high quality multimedia documents from file sharing programs like Google Docs, Dropbox, Evernote and others. It recognizes Microsoft Office formats so you can edit a Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the go. As far as apps go it’s on the pricier side costing between 15 and 25 dollars depending on your gadget, but for the most part it doesn’t disappoint. One issue we did have with Quickoffice Pro is that users can email documents out, but downloading attachments from an email account is not an option.
Teamviewer pretty much has it all. This app works as a remote desktop client that lets you use your computer as if you were in front of it. It’s a great tool to have when you’re on the road because you can do everything on your computer as if it was with you and could be especially helpful if you forgot something at the office. You can open programs, type up documents, and watch videos as long as the computer you’re paired with is turned on and has an internet connection. And considering the range of functions this app offers, there’s not much of a delay between your computer and your gadget. And best of all, Teamviewer is free for iOS and Android users. All of this in a free package gets 5 stars from us.
And that wraps up this episode on our favorite productivity apps. If you have an app you’d like us to review, let us know and we’ll check it out. Done a review yourself? Share it with us and we might use it in our next show. For the IDG news service, I’m Nick Barber. Happy apping!
