In a statement Toshiba announced that Sharp had bought back the remaining 19.9% of shares in the Dynabook business making the Dynabook brand a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp, thus ending Toshiba’s existence in the laptop market.

Toshiba no longer has much of a presence in consumer technology. Today it provides hard drive and storage solutions, printers, and digital signage to businesses while having tech in the oil and gas, and power and energy sectors. It also produces automotive semiconductors.
