Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Release date and price UK: When is the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet coming out? How much will the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet cost?
Sony's online store previously said the new tablet is expected to be delivered on 29 June but is no longer available to put into the basket. Clove said the Xperia Z4 Tablet would go on sale starting 22 June but now says 'first stock delayed to early July'. And the Expansys page for the Xperia Z4 Tablet without the keyboard for £434 has been pulled.
Meanwhile Amazon says the product is 'temporarily out of stock' but we don't this it was ever on sale so the situation is confusing. We've asked Sony if there are any problems and will update this article when we hear any news.
We expected it to be around the classic premium tablet price of £399 matching the iPad Air 2 but Sony has priced it as a whopping £499 on its website. That's for the Wi-Fi-only model with 32 GB of storage and includes the BKB50 kayboard dock. The price for the 4G LTE model - also with 32 GB of storage and the keyboard - is £579.
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet: Specs and features
The new Xperia Z4 Tablet isn't dramatically different to the Xperia Z2 Tablet, its predecessor. It looks similar but there are various upgrades and tweaks. Sony is calling the 'World's lightest 10in tablet with brightest 2K display'.
Sony's previous generation was impressively thin at 6.4 mm but the Xperia Z4 Tablet is even thinner at 6.1 mm. It's just 392 g for the Wi-Fi model and 396 g for the one with 4G LTE. It's still waterproof with an IP68 rating and not only is the headphone port cover-free, now the microUSB port is too.
The screen remains at 10.1in but Sony has upgraded the resolution to 2560x1600 and the brightness is claimed to be 500cd/m2. Other upgrades include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and support for High-Res audio.
Sony offers 32GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM, a microSD card slot and a 6,000mAh battery which is claims can offer a whopping 17 hours of video playback.
There's a Wi-Fi only model but you can opt for 4G LTE if you wish and we believe this model can make calls as well as use mobile data. An optional Bluetooth keyboard dock will be available which supports tilt and a trackpad for what Sony calls a 'premium laptop experience'.
