Jolla Tablet

The firm is still seeking to promote its own Sailfish OS which is based on MeeGo, Nokia's old system which was used on the N9 but ditched in favour for Windows Phone. The Jolla smartphone has been around for a while but now the Jolla Tablet is on the horizon.

"We are completely different to any other company you’ll ever support. All of our customers can have their say on the direction of our products through Jolla and other open source communities that we work closely with. Help us make the Jolla Tablet, then be a part of making it yours," said Jolla.

Jolla Tablet: Release date and price

The first thing to point out is that the Jolla Tablet isn't in production yet as the firm needs support from its customers to get this new project going. There is an Indiegogo campaign now live with a goal of raising $380,000 which will close on 9 December. At the time of writing more than 50 percent of the goal has been achieved.

The estimated delivery for the Jolla Tablet is May 2015 so there is a little while to wait and you can contribute as little as $10 which will get you your name on one of 'The First Ones' on the Jolla website.

The first 1000 contributors can get the Jolla Tablet at a special discount price of $189 and the second 1000 will get it at $199. Shipping costs $20 and it's worth noting that these prices don't include VAT or other taxes which you may have to pay.

Available regions for the Jolla Tablet are EU, Norway, Switzerland, USA, India, China, Hong Kong and Russia.
