As anticipated, Redmi 9 is a big-battery budget phone with a quad-lens rear camera (8MP ultra-wide + 13MP wide + 2MP depth + 5MP macro). It has a 6.53in Full-HD+ IPS Dot Drop display, a 2GHz MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core chipset, and - in common with the Redmi Note 9 series - a high-capacity 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast wired charging.
Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster and a rear fingerprint sensor.
Redmi 9 had been tipped to be one of three devices in the series, with leakster Sudhanshu alluding to a Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C and Redmi 9. It's possible that these cheaper devices might follow soon.
