Just like there was no Xperia Z3 Tablet, there was no Xperia M3 so we've confusingly jumped from the Xperia M2 and Aqua version to the Xperia M4 Aqua.

Although there's no UK price for the Xperia Z4 Tablet, Sony has confirmed that the Xperia M4 Aqua will retail for €299 in Europe. We're awaiting a UK price in pounds and will update this article when we have it.

Along with the new tablet, the Xperia M4 Aqua will launch 'Spring 2015' which is a bit vague but it seems likely that it will hit the shops in the next month or two. Again, we'll let you know when we have something more specific. (Also see: Best smartphones 2015.)
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua: Specs and features
With various upgrades compared to the Xperia M2 Aqua, Sony is bringing premium features normally found on the Z range to cheaper handsets.
As the name suggests, the smartphone is waterproof and this time to an IP65/68 rating. Like the Xperia Z4 Tablet, there's no flap to cover the headphone or microUSB ports. The device is svelte for a mid-range device as 7.3 mm and 136 g. Colours include black, white, silver and coral. (Also see: Best Android phones 2015.)
Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 2 GB of RAM and a microSD card slot. There's a 13 Mp rear facing camera and a 5 Mp snapper at the front with an Exmor RS sensor. Sony is using a tempered glass front for the IPS screen which is 5in and 720p HD and touts a two-day battery life.
