The Lumia 520 is Nokia's most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone yet, with a retail price of only €139 - around a quarter of the cost of the Lumia 920. It sports the same digital camera lenses found on the Lumia 920, as well as such features as Nokia Music. The Lumia 520 is a 4in device that comes in five colours. It will launch in Hong Kong and Vietnam over the next couple of months, before coning to Europe and the rest of the world in the summer. See also: Group test: what's the best smartphone?

Further up the scale is the Nokia Lumia 720. This is a mid-range Windows Phone 8 phone that delivers a high-end camera performance. It has a 4.3in touchscreen display. The Lumia 720's digital camera comes with Carl Zeiss optics and a large f/1.9 aperture. There's also wireless charging with a snap-on wireless charging cover. The Lumia 720 will also roll out in Asia first and then reach Europe later in the year. It is expected to cost €249.
