When is The Outer Worlds coming out on Switch?
The Outer Worlds came out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 25 October 2019, but there's an extra wait for the Switch port. Originally expected to arrive on 6 March 2020, the company has now confirmed via Twitter that it will be delayed thanks to the ongoing coronavirus mayhem.
We’re delaying @OuterWorlds on Nintendo Switch due to the coronavirus impacting the Virtuos team working on the port, to provide them enough time to finish development. We’ll now be releasing the physical version on cartridge. Once we have a new launch date, we’ll let you know!— Private Division (@PrivateDivision) February 6, 2020
The tweet confirms that the physical version will be released on cartridge, and that we will get an update soon with the release date.
What about DLC?
There is indeed Outer Worlds DLC on the way, and it'll be story-focused too. That's about all we know though.
The unnamed DLC pack(s) was announced in a forum post which claimed only that "the journey isn't over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year!" The post promised more details "at a later date," but until then there's not much to go on.
The Outer Worlds trailers
The official launch trailer for The Outer Worlds was unveiled just a week before release date, though Obsidian has been teasing the game for months. The trailer showcases the dangerous and wacky world the game is set in, and sets the tone for the game.
Not much else was showcased before E3 2019, when a brand new gameplay trailer was revealed. It's much of the same, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, right?
