Many people will flock to the recently announced Surface Laptop 3, but if you can live without a USB-C port and minor speed improvements, this could be a great option. Microsoft devices are typically well future-proofed, so you won't have to worry about software updates for the next few major releases of Windows.
Do note that while Microsoft's listing of the Surface Laptop 2 shows £200 off, it has regularly been available for less than the £979 RRP. At the time of our review, the baseline model being sold for £832 and it's still retailing for £883 on Amazon. While currently out of stock, buying through Currys PC World will also get you a 6-month free subscription to Spotify Premium.
If you're set on the new model, Microsoft offer a trade-in offer of up to £500 if you pre-order a Surface Laptop 3. If you prefer to go with Currys PC World, you'll get the Spotify subscription and a £100 gift card.

What's good about this deal?
It provides everything most people are looking for in a laptop and more, with top-of-the-line specs, compact design and premium finish. We also particularly enjoyed the black model they added to the colour options.
The Surface Laptop 2 was already competitively priced - with its current discount it represents one of the best value for money options on the market.
