Its Tile Mate and Tile Pro flagship trackers have been upgraded to have longer ranges of 200 feet and 400 feet respectively.
These trackers are small and have loops to attach to keys and bags. You can then track your hopefully momentarily lost things from the smartphone app. Tile also works the other way around, letting you ring your phone from the tracker to quickly locate it.
You used to have to buy new Tile Mates or Pros when the batteries run out but, like the previous gen, currently have user replaceable batteries for a cheaper upkeep cost.
An updated Tile Slim is the width of two credit cards with 200 feet range for use in wallets, laptop cases or anywhere else you want to subtly put a tracker for peace of mind.
The new Tile Sticker is unsurprisingly a tracker that you can, well, stick to things. Tile’s examples for use include plastic crates, remotes, cameras and outdoor gear, though the image of one stuck on the outside of some Beats headphones is an aesthetic stretch for us. Tile partnered with 3M to boost the Sticker’s adhesive credentials, and the tracker has a range of 150 feet.
Tile is also pushing its Tile Community because, let’s be honest, if you lose something when out you’re probably not going to be 150-400 feet away from it by the time you realise. You can mark a specific Tile as lost, and fellow Tile users can locate and return your stuff. Here’s hoping the Tile Community are an honest bunch, though the company claims so far 90% of items marked as lost are recovered.
Tile has always been a great idea but often people balk at the asking prices, sometimes unfairly. Judge for yourself:
- Tile Sticker: Available in Black, starting from £34.99 for a 2-pack, £54.99 for a 4-pack
- Tile Slim: Available in Black for £24.99
- Tile Mate: Available in White, for £19.99
- Tile Pro: Available in Black and White, for £29.99
We feel Tile Pro is the best one to go for at that price as it has the longest range and can be used on a wider range of possessions. The user replaceable battery also helps, though for the non-replaceable Sticker and Slim the Tile app will prompt you to order new products when the batteries are running low.
You can buy a Tile on the company's website.
