With the country facing self-isolation, working from home and maybe even a full lockdown, Sky has announced that 2020 price rises are on the way for many TV and broadband customers. Here’s what you need to know.

The vast majority of Sky customers will be subject to these price increases which will come into effect on 1 April, and that’s not a joke.

Here are the TV and broadband packages being hiked:

  • Sky Entertainment +£2 per month
  • Sky Q Multiscreen +£1 per month
  • Sky HD +£1 per month
  • Sky Broadband Essential + £2 per month

“So that we can continue to give you the best experience possible, we occasionally need to review our pricing. Your price will change in your April bill and is clearly laid out below.” said Sky.

The firm added that those new to Sky or signed up to a new minimum term the price change above won’t apply to those services for the first 60 days.

Note that if you want to leave Sky due to the price rises, you can cancel your broadband contract without any exit fees. Make sure you’ve received details of the price change and then contact Sky within 30 days.

Unfortunately, the same isn’t true of Sky TV contracts but you can at least pause your Sky Sports subscription at the moment to save some money.
