Boba Fett will of course be played by Temuera Morrison, who made his Star Wars debut as Jango Fett in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Naturally, he returned to play Jango’s clone son Boba in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian, The Tragedy. (If you’re not au fait with the series, Chapter 14 is in fact episode 6 of season 2.)
Starring alongside him in The Book of Boba Fett will be Ming-Na Wen as sniper Fennec Shand. Robert Rodriguez has signed on to exec produce, after stepping in to direct the above-mentioned Boba Fett episode, The Tragedy, as a favour to his friend Jon Favreau.
Production on The Book of Boba Fett has begun and The Mandalorian season 3 will follow.
A dedicated series about the mysterious bounty hunter is, for many mature Star Wars fans, a lifelong dream. If it lives up to its promise, it could be one of the most popular of the new batch of Star Wars shows.
