24in LG 24TL510S
With all the streaming subscription services around, students and families alike will want to access Netflix or Amazon Prime Video on their TVs. The 24in LG 24TL510S (pictured below) is one of the smallest smart TVs out there to allow you to do just that with HD Ready 720p resolution.
The 24in LG smart TV provides access to BBC iPlayer and All 4 too, as well as Freeview. It's available from Currys for £180, along with 6 months of Spotify for free (to add to your list of streaming apps).
32in Sony Bravia KDL32WE613BU
There's also the larger 32in Sony Bravia KDL32WE613BU for £249 on Amazon, John Lewis and Currys (includes 6 months of Spotify Premium). It's pricier, but you get an incredible 400Hz refresh rate for a super smooth picture quality, especially for gaming. Competitors at this size typically only have the standard 60Hz refresh rate.
32in Philips 32PHT4503
If you want 4K resolution, check out the 32in Philips 32PHT4503 LED TV for £150.76 on Amazon. It's not a smart TV but it does have an HDMI port which means you can plug in a Google Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV Stick and instantly convert it into a smart TV. Not bad for under £200.
Small 19in and 20in LED TVs under £100
Of course, you can go smaller and opt for this 19in Bush LED TV for £99 at Argos, or this 20in Logik LED TV for £89.99 from Currys. While you won't find Wi-Fi connectivity on those, they do have HDMI ports, so you can plug in a media streaming device and access all your favourite subscription platforms.
