It reminds us of the jet black iPhone 7 that was aluminium but brushed to within an inch of its life to look like glass and scratched if you so much as looked at it. Apple recommended you put it in a case right away. And make it an official case, at that.
Suffice to say this colour is no longer available, even though the iPhone 7 is.
It’s peak Apple that the page has a handy two step instruction process on how to polish your shiny new status symbol*:
“1. Gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free microfiber cloth. 2. Moisten a soft, microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the card.”
You can request a new Apple Card if you find that it simply becomes too darn dirty to look at.
The Apple Card should come to more territories soon and offers cashback on certain purchases. In the US contactless payments are not so widespread, hence the need for physical cards for many people.
Otherwise you can add your Apple Card to Apple Pay. It can’t get scratched in there.
*available to every iPhone customer in the US.
