Google held it hardware launch event on 9 October 2018 at 4pm BST/11am PDT. If you missed the stream, you can watch a recording here or use the link above. As we expected, Google left the Pixel Watch unmentioned.

When is the Pixel Watch release date?

Google is definitely working on a new smartwatch that will be part of its Pixel family, but that new Google Watch will not be ready for a 9 October release alongside the Pixel 3.

The news was confirmed to Tom's Guide during an interview with Miles Barr, Google's director of engineering for Wear OS.

Barr told the site: “To think of a one-size-fits-all watch, I don’t think we’re there yet. Our focus is on our partners for now.”

Pixel Watch specification rumours

It's not really all that surprising that the Pixel Watch isn't ready for primetime given how sparse rumours have been on the upcoming device.

We do know there are probably three versions in development, one with a full gig of RAM and one with support for 4G LTE.
