Nuance has launched Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 as 'the fastest and most accurate speech recognition software available for the PC'.
The latest Dragon software can turn speech into text faster than most people can type, according to the firm. The English version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 Premium is available to download now starting at £139.
The Home version starts at £79 and upgrades are available from the last two versions of Dragon.
"Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 offers increased accuracy, improved design and flexibility, and a robust web experience – and that adds up to a more intuitive and productive experience for customers," said Peter Mahoney, Nuance's chief marketing officer and general manager for Dragon.
As well as increased recognition accuracy, Dragon makes it easier for new or experienced users to get up and running by way of a simplified audio set-up and enrolment process. Version 13 uses the latest speech recognition technology making it faster and more accurate than previously.
For the first time, the software is compatible with built-in microphones so there's no need to use a separate headset.
Dragon 13 now also supports voice commands in popular applications such as Gmail in modern web browsers. This means you can use your voice to open Firefox, for example, and then browse the web or post to social networks without typing.
"Dragon continues to serve as a complete voice solution for the PC, capable of impressive performance across programs, browsers and applications. Both new and longtime users of Dragon will find their interactions with the PC completely transformed, as they use their voice to get more things done in a faster and more natural way." added Mahoney.
