Techsmith has unveiled Camtasia Studio 6, an upgraded version of its screencast software. Read our Camtasia Studio 8 review.

The new version of the software allows users to create Flash video for web use. Other new features include the ability to make separate changes to audio and video recordings. Audio can now be re-recorded and dubbed over the original video and vice versa, as well as allowing users to assign certain editing functions to hotkeys and the capability to create screencasts in Mpeg4 and AVC formats.

A tilt feature lets you change the camera angle of the presentation so the content appears to be 3D. Camtasia also adds the ability to edit digital camera video footage and provides 2GB of free space at - an online service that enables users to upload and shared their videos online

The full version of Camtasia Studio 6 is due for release in early 2009 and will cost £210 for the full version and £104.50 as an upgrade. Users can also download a free trial version from Techsmith now.
