Avanquest Software has released Family Tree Maker 2010 - an updated version of its genealogy software.

The software comes with free access to Ancestry.co.uk - one of the largest collections of Census records; Birth, Marriage and Death indexes; and military records online.

The new version of Family Tree Maker features improved integration with Ancestry.co.uk as well as new timelines, family group sheers and genealogy reports.

Avanquest says the new version offers easier and faster ways to add, link and categorise photos and files. It has a slideshows function. As well as digital images, old photos can be scanned in and imported and integrated into the family tree.

Other improvements include a new-look relationship calculator and the option to publish trees as books that can be shared with friends and family.

There are three versions of the software available; Family Tree Maker 2010 Deluxe Edition comes with three months access to Ancestry.co.uk, Platinum Edition offers six months access to the UK site while World Edition includes a six-month worldwide membership to Ancestry.com so users can search for their relatives on a global scale.

World Edition also comes with SendPhotos, a program for editing and enhancing family photos, Backup and Protect Suite to ensure all family data is protected and Create Your Own Family Tree Website with three month's free web hosting and a domain name to share finished projects with family and friends.

All three versions also feature getting started guides and interactive tutorials to help users master researching their family trees.

Family Tree Maker 2010 is priced at £39.13 for the Deluxe Edition, while the Platinum Edition costs £58.71 and the World Edition is priced at £97.86. The software is available from Avanquest now.
