Nikon has expanded its Coolpix range of digital cameras with three models; the L100, the L20 and the L19, all of which benefit from a function that automatically adjusts the camera's settings to create the best possible shot based upon the surroundings.

As well as the Scene Auto Selector function, the cameras also feature Smile Mode that only takes the picture when the subject is smiling and Blink Warning, which warns users if a subject has their eyes closed.

The £239 10Mp L100 has a 15x Nikkor zoom lens and a 3in LCD screen. Measuring 110x72x78mm, the camera also features a macro mode that is capable of capturing images from as close up as 1cm. There are also 15 scene modes including a Sports Continuous Mode which will capture 13 frames per second (fps).

Users will also benefit from the camera's Motion Detection system, which detects camera shake or subject movement and automatically selects a faster shutter speed and higher ISO sensitivity to ensure the images are not blurred.

The 10Mp L20 measures 97x61x29mm and has a 3in LCD screen while the 9Mp L19 is 97x61x29mm L19 comes with a 2.7in display. Both has a 3.6x zoom lens with a 4x digital zoom. The L20 is available in black metallic and deep red, the L19 in bright silver or shiny pink.

Mark Pekelharing, product manager consumer products at Nikon Europe B.V: "Not everyone wants to spend a lot of money on a camera. With these three new cameras, you get the best of both worlds: quality imaging with many exciting features, and all at an affordable price".
