Monitor specialist Iiyama has announced the first in a planned new range of PC monitors. The E2207WSV is a 22in widescreen model and is the first of Iiyama's OptiColour screens. It costs £159 ex VAT.

OptiColours refers to the screens' ability to switch between display modes. LCD panels in the Iiyama OptiColour range will be optimised for text, gaming, photo or cinema modes. Iiyama builds in a number of preset settings for each of these four primary display uses, so the viewer enjoys the best possible display for whatever they’re using the screen for.

The 22in E2207WSV has a 1,680x1,060-pixel screen and a response time of 5 milliseconds – not as fast as some gamers and film fans expect of a screen, but on a par with other general-purpose and business screens.

The Iiyama E2207WSV LCD monitor has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. The 22in screen is housed in a semi-gloss black casing. It works with both PCs and Macintosh computers.

Iiyama provides a 3-year warranty with its monitors.

The ProLite E2207WSV is available immediately through distribution partners. It has a suggested retail price of £159 ex VAT (£168.83 inc VAT).
