Honor is Huawei's brand for cheaper versions of its flagship phones. Cheaper doesn't mean rubbish, though. In fact, we're big fans of recent Honor phones, including the excellent Honor 9, which we called "a flagship phone at a mid-range price".
That phone launched back in the summer, so Honor really is launching new models at a rapid pace given that it has just announced the £269.99 7X as well.
When is the Honor View 10 release date?
You'll be able to buy a View 10 from 8 January 2018, and it costs £449.99, (499 Euros). It means it's going up against the OnePlus 5T, so we'll be comparing the cameras and performance shortly.
What are the Honor View 10 specs?
The phone is a lot like the Mate 10 Pro, and it comes in Navy Blue and Midnight Black.
It has the same 6in 18:9 screen with tiny bezels and the same powerful Kirin 970 processor and 6GB of RAM. (There's a version with 4GB in China too)
Actually, like the Honor 7X, the screen uses IPS tech instead of pOLED so it's not identical to the Mate 10's display. But it does have the same 2160x1080 resolution at 403ppi.
Yet, despite the small bezels, the fingerprint scanner remains on the front, and there's a 3.5mm headphone jack.
At the rear there's a similar dual-camera setup at the rear. The View 10 has different lenses and sensors, though, with 16+20Mp sensors and f/1.8 lenses. As with other Huawei and Honor phones, the secondary sensor is monochrome.
Video is up to 4K at the rear and 1080p at the front - there's a 13Mp selfie camera.
As the Kirin 970 is used, the View 10 has the same capabilites as the Mate 10 Pro for photo and video modes, plus the artificial intelligence for scene recognition and offline translation. You can read all about that in our Mate 10 Pro review.
It has 128GB of internal storage and unlike the Mate 10, it can be supplemented with a microSD card up to 256GB.
Like the Mate 10 Pro, it's a dual-SIM phone with Dual-VoLTE support, so you can still receive calls on the second SIM if you're on a call using the main one.
The View 10 is 6.97mm thick and has a 3750mAh battery - only a little smaller than the Mate 10 Pro's 4000mAh capacity.
It supports Honor SuperCharge which will juice up the battery from empty to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
In terms of software, the phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei's EMUI 8 interface (shown on the Mate 10 Pro above).
