Toshiba has launched two tiny netbooks with batteries that should last up to 11 hours between charges. The Toshiba Mini NB300 and NB305 are both 10.1in netbooks powered by 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processors.

Both models have integrated graphics, distinguishing them from some other new netbook models that have taken the opposite tack and ramped up the specs including the price.

The Toshiba NB300 comes in black and runs either Windows 7 Starter Edition or Windows XP Home. The Toshiba NB305 comes in brown or white and is only available with Windows 7.

Customers can choose between a 160GB or 250GB hard drive. Other specifications include Wi-Fi, a built-in webcam and a microphone.

All three models measure 266x192x36mm, making them slimmer than their predecessor, the NB200.

"The Toshiba principle of packing as much as possible into as small a space as they can certainly seems to have paid off this time," says Rob Woolley from IT247.

"The real bonus is that 11 hour battery life, meaning that you can do a full day's work without having to be tethered to a power point - perfect for business users on the go," he adds.

The Toshiba NB300 and NB305 netbooks are available immediately, priced from £289.
