Tesco Clubcard TV

Tesco has launched an internet film and TV streaming service called Clubcard TV.

Clubcard TV is available for anyone with a Tesco Clubcard and those without can get one for free. The service is totally free of subscription and pay per view charges and will be forever, according to Tesco.

Tesco said: "We offer thousands of movies and TV shows for free. There are no schedules, no subscriptions, no fees – as long as you are a Tesco Clubcard customer and you have access to the internet, you’re free to enjoy Clubcard TV. And we’re constantly updating our movies and TV shows, so there’s something for everyone."

The service is similar to that of Netflix and Amazon's Lovefilm Instant but these require monthly subscriptions. Tesco Clubcard TV is powered by Blinkbox, a streaming service which is majority owned by Tesco itself.

At the time of writing the Clubcard TV website is unavailable. According to IBTimes, the service is currently a closed beta for staff only which is why the sign up process requires a privilege card number. Privilege cards are only given to Tesco staff members. Clubcard TV will be opened up to customers in the spring.

At launch Clubcard TV is only available for PC and Mac so to watch on your TV you'll have to connect a computer. There's always the chance of more devices being added. These days it's expected that services are available across smartphones, tablets, TV and internet streamers.
