has updated its online printing and gallery service with the integration of online photo-editing tools from Picnik.

One of the first online printing and photo gallery sites, until recently Photoboxoffered only basic crop and resize options. Now, however, Photobox has teamed up with established online photo editing site Picnik to offer users far more options for how their photos look.

The additional editing options include the ability to straighten, flip, rotate and resize as well as adding red-eye removal, exposure, brightness and contrast features to the Photobox fan's arsenal of tools.

As part of an overhaul of its website that features an new easy-to-navigate interface, Photobox now offers an 'Edit' option, which provides users with a host of photo-editing tools from Picnik without navigating away from the website. The free tools allow users to crop, resize, rotate, flip and straighten images while also changing the exposure, brightness, contrast and even removing red eye from the images.

Photobox also offers more ‘fun’ editing options including adding frames and text to pictures, and various effects such as Black and white and sepia colour tints and adjustable focus. The edited image can then be saved back to a Photobox album as a new photo, ensuring the original is still available if required. An undo option ensures any changes can be reversed if the user decides they are not quite right.

Photobox offers free online photo storage with access to galleries made public, private or via email invitation on an album-by-album basis. Users can then choose to print photos stored on the site or create items such as mugs, photobooks, t-shirts and mouse mats customised with their favourite snaps.
