The Sweex MM300 is the white model while the Sweex MM301 has a black casing. As on the Amazon Kindle and iRiver Story, the screen technology is provided by E-Ink.
The Sweex e-book reader supports the standard e-book formats including EPUB, PDF, FB2, RTF, TXT and HTML. Text and graphics are displayed at a resolution of 800x600 pixels.
Sweex says the e-book reader's battery takes two hours to charge fully and, since power is drawn on only when a page is replenished, should last for at least 8,000 pages before needing to be recharged.
There are 15 books preloaded on the device including Dracula, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice and War of the Worlds. Additional titles can be loaded from a PC using the included USB cable.
The device has 512MB of internal memory and also supports Secure Digital (SD) memory cards of up to 2GB. Pictures saved as Jpegs and MP3 audio books and music can be played. There's a 3.5mm headphone port and adapter jack.
The 174g Sweex MM301 and MM300 e-book readers will go onsale in May.
