OnePlus have been a staple in the Smartphone market for a few years now producing some very impressive projects such as this and that. This new announcement shows the company moving into the Smart TV market continuing their aim to ‘improve the human experience through simplicity, efficiency and intelligent functionality.’
OnePlus founder and CEO, Pete Lau, mentions that while the wider technology industry has advanced rapidly over the past decade TVs have been left behind somewhat, describing them as ‘conventional and cumbersome’.

In what is described as a natural progression for the OnePlus brand, their entry into the Smart TV market allows them to bring their high-quality hardware and seamless user experience, with a minimalistic and timeless design.
Aiming to bring the level of technology that we’re used to seeing in our smartphones to our home TV systems, OnePlus are seeing to take this market very seriously. If their current line-up of Smartphones is anything to judge by, we’re sure that OnePlus will produce something very interesting.
OnePlus are even running a competition to be able to name their new Smart TV. The chosen winner will receive one of the smart TVs, as well as a trip to the launch party.
