Freeview HD was launched last week and currently offers three HD channels; The BBC HD channel, ITV1 HD and Channel 4 HD.
As well as broadcasting a range of HD content, these channels will also be showing the World Cup, which kicks off on 11 June.
The Grundig GUD300HD and the Goodmans GBD300HD set-top boxes are both capable of receiving both standard definition and HD content.
They come with a eight-day electronic programme guide (EPG) that offers information about the shows being broadcast on all channels available on Freeview, while a HDMI output ensures the set-top box can be connected to a HD TV to fully enjoy the HD service.
Configured to recieve both over-the-air upgrades and those via a USB device, the set-top boxes also feature an Ethernet port that will allow the box to be connected to the internet when services, such as Project Canvas, become available in the future.
The Grundig GUD300HD and the Goodmans GBD300HD consume less than 1 Watt of power when on standby and have been enabled to receive an update for the BBC's iPlayer, scheduled for later this year, which will allow users to watch the catch-up TV service through their set-top box and TV.
