Pure has unveiled the Sensia 200D Connect, a DAB radio that allows users to stream music over the internet and surf the web from a 5.7in colour touchscreen.

The device offers 30W RMS of digital sound via DSP tuned class-D amplifiers and twin speakers. Tracks can either be streamed through Pure Music, the firms' web-based music streaming service that is priced at £4.99 per month, or from a PC or network storage device thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity. The Pure Sensia 200D Connect also offers access to hundreds of internet radio stations and on-demand radio shows, along with DAB channels and traditional FM broadcasts.

The device also offers users the chance to view weather reports or station slideshows, if available from the broadcaster, use social networking sites Twitter and Facebook or even view photos from Picasa using the 5.7in 640x480 colour touchscreen. Furthermore, live internet radio and digital radio broadcasts can also be recorded to memory sticks connected to the device via the USB port, using either a timer or the dedicated record button. These recordings can then be played back on either the Sensia 200D Connect, or Pure's Highway 300Di in-car digital radio or the Pure Sirocco 550 internet-connected micro hi-fi system.

Users can manually adjust the bass and treble so the audio can be tweaked for their preference, and the device also benefits from an input for an Apple iPod or MP3 player, two alarms, a sleep timer and a headphone socket. Meanwhile, the optional rechargeable Pure F1 ChargePAK means the device can be taken on-the-go.

Available in either black or white and bundled with a moulded stand is that allows the radio to be angled at an optimum viewing position, the Pure Sensia 200D Connect will be available in the UK during Q1. It is priced at £249.99.
