Asus has been one of the pioneers of the gaming phone market over the past few years, offering what is often one of the best mobile gaming experiences available – albeit at a high cost, with an added premium compared to much of the Chinese competition. To bolster its position in 2021, Asus has confirmed that the fourth-gen ROG Phone 5 (yes, you read that correctly) is on the way, with the global reveal taking place later today.

Here’s all you need to know about the Asus ROG Phone 5 launch, including timings, how to watch live and what to expect from the next-gen gaming phone.

When is the Asus ROG Phone 5 launch?

As confirmed by Asus, the official reveal of the ROG Phone 5 is set for today, 10 March 2021, taking place in Taipei. It kicks off at 19:00 local time (UTC+8) which translates to 11:00 GMT for those in the UK and an early 3:00 PT/6:00 ET start for those tuning in from the USA.

How can I watch the Asus ROG Phone 5 launch live?

As you’d expect from a global smartphone launch in 2021, Asus is set to livestream the launch event so fans can watch from the comfort of their own homes. You’ll be able to watch it via the Asus ROG Phone 5 microsite, and it'll also be streamed via the company’s ROG-themed YouTube channel too.

What should I expect from the Asus ROG Phone 5?

We already know that the main focus of the Asus event will be the next-gen ROG Phone 5, but what will the new gaming phone offer? While we won’t know for sure until later today, the phone has been the subject of a number of leaks and rumours of late.

Whispers currently suggest the ROG Phone 5 will sport a larger 6.8in display with a buttery smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and that’ll allegedly be powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and up to an incredible 18GB of RAM.

Some rumours detail the existence of a secondary display on the rear, while other leaked images showcase a dot matrix-esque display, suggesting there could be multiple versions of the ROG Phone 5 on the way.

We outline all the details, including leaked images, in our Asus ROG Phone 5 news roundup for those that want to find out more ahead of the announcement later today.
