Initially taking a screen grab from your Smartphone might seem a bit pointless. But if you're having problems with your phone, or you're unsure how to do something on your handset, it's a great way of 'explaining' what you can see. RIM's official way of taking a screen grab on a BlackBerry device utilises the JL_Cmder (JavaLoader Commander) from BlackBerry, which can be downloaded for free. It's worth noting you do have to connect your handset to your PC via the USB cable and have BlackBerry Desktop manager and the relevant driver installed on your PC. Here's how to do it.
Start by connecting your BlackBerry to your computer using USB cable.
Next download and install JavaLoader Commander from BlackBerry's forum.
Open JL_Cmder. You'll be asked to Press any key.
If you BlackBerry is locked, then unlock it. Next, carry out the action you get to the screen you want to capture.
On your PC, press 3 to take a screenshot. Next you'll be required to enter a name for the image. Then press Enter. Your image will be automatically opened in Windows Paint program.
From here, you can save the file to your desktop.
