The latest Nintendo Direct is set to go live later today, with Nintendo teasing upcoming games for the 3DS and Switch. The firm will also give more details on the paid Switch Online service. Here's all the details.

What is Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo Direct is the legendary Japanese gaming company's way of communicating with both the press and fans. It's namely for making news announcements for upcoming games like Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Eevee, and more recently, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The announcements can vary, from new gameplay features to new accessory reveals and even release date announcements. Previously, Nintendo used its Direct presentations to unveil the Nintendo Switch, as well as many of its best Nintendo Switch games and best 3DS games.

When is the next Nintendo Direct?

The latest Nintendo Direct will take place on 13 September at 11:00PM UK time. It was originally scheduled for 6 September but was moved due to an earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan.

The broadcast will last around 35 minutes and focus "on upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch titles".

More details about the Nintendo Switch Online service will be revealed, too.
