The summer is coming to an end and although darker and colder nights are beckoning, that means you can get cosy and watch some good old fashioned TV. The X Factor has now started up again and we've also got plenty of other details.

X Factor might be struggling in the ratings battle against the likes of Strictly Come Dancing but ITV refuses to can the talent show, which is now into its 15th series.

When is X Factor on TV this week?

After months of waiting, the X Factor 2018 series is airing now, after starting up again on 1 September.

This Saturday (September 22), The X Factor is on 8:35pm on ITV. However, the show is slightly earlier the next day, starting at 8pm on Sunday, also on ITV.

How to watch X Factor online

Since X Factor is on ITV 1 you can watch online with the ITV Hub on a wide range of devices including your phone.

If you’re holidaying outside of the UK, there are ways to watch the ITV Hub abroad such as using a VPN (virtual private network) like NordVPN.

What's this week's episode?

This week the contestants will be thrown into the Six Chair Challenge, in which they'll compete against other members of their category (boys, girls, groups, and over 25s) for a place in the next round, with each judge having to choose their favourite six to go through.

There's a wrinkle this year though: each judge also gets a Golden Chair, which they can give to one outstanding performer, allowing them to skip straight ahead to their judge's house.

Who are the judges?

This year Simon Cowell is the only remaining judge from the last series. That means there are three new judges. They are actress Ayda Williams, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson and singer Robbie Williams.

We also now know which categories they'll be looking after: Simon has the girls, Louis has the boys, Robbie has the groups, and Ayda will manage the over 25s.

When is the X Factor 2018 final?

We don't know for sure but last year's final was on the first Sunday of December. So by that logic, the 2018 final will potentially take place on 2 December.
