There’s nothing like a good cozy festive rom-com to get you in the mood for Christmas, and if you’ve watched Love Actually and The Holiday one too many times, then try out this year’s big December watch – The Happiest Season.
The film stars Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis as Abby and Harper, a couple who are planning to meet the relatives over the Christmas period. However, things get a little awkward when Abby realises that Harper failed to mention to her family that she’s currently in a lesbian relationship, and that Abby will have to pretend to be her straight friend the whole time.
It’s a hilarious and refreshing take on the classic Christmas heartwarming genre – here’s how to watch it from both the UK and US. You can also check out the best Christmas TV for 2020, as well as the best Christmas adverts.
How to watch The Happiest Season in the UK
There’s a couple of ways to watch The Happiest Season in the UK. If you can wait just a little longer, both Now TV and Sky Cinema will be streaming the film from 18 December 2020.
This means that you can watch The Happiest Season completely for free, simply by signing up for a free trial of the Now TV Cinema Pass. Usually this costs £11.99 per month, however the company offers a seven-day free trial. As long as you cancel your subscription before your one-week trial is up, you won’t be charged a penny.
Sign up on the Now TV website to watch The Happiest Season when it releases. In addition, if you have Sky Cinema included in your TV package, you’ll be able to watch the film at no extra cost.
You can also get hold of a 30-day free trial of Hulu – where The Happiest Season is available to stream in the US. However, to do this you’ll need a VPN such as NordVPN and ExpressVPN, as well as US billing details. We explain more in our guide to watching Hulu from outside of the US.
If you’re in the US, you can sign up for Hulu without the need for a VPN. Subscriptions cost $5.99 a month or $59.99 per year – but as we stated above you get that generous one-month free trial.
