Game of Thrones Season 7 is the latest available, released in summer 2017. You can catch up completely free, even if you don't have a Sky subscription. We'll explain how to do just that, as well as outline rumours on the Game of Thrones Season 8 release date.

When is Game of Thrones next on?

The Season 7 finale broadcast in the UK on Monday 28 August 2017.

Season 8 is set to be the last in the series, but it won't hit our screens until sometime in 2019 according to GoT star Sophie Turner (Sansa).

Her in-show sister gave us a more precise estimate, with Maisie Williams revealing to the Metro that the first episode of season eight is due to air some time in April 2019:

"We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all."

But, then, just to complicate things, Williams popped on Twitter after the interview went live to throw cold water on her own quote:

There's at least one thing we do know: that the season will comprise just six episodes. Some of these episodes could be longer than normal though, which would soften the blow a little.
