Sending someone your ETA on your iPhone or iPad has now become that much easier, thanks to the Google Maps ETA sharing feature. This is been available on Android for a while now, but as of today – you’ll be able to let friends, family and colleagues when you’re showing up.

While this has been available on other services such as Waze and Citymapper for some time, the transition to Google Maps makes it that much more accessible and easy to use for everyone as Google Maps comes as standard for most phones. This new update also allowed ETA sharing for several popular third-party apps, such as WhatsApp and Facebook.

Once you have entered your destination and you’re on your way, you can head into the Menu by hitting the ^ arrow - from there, you’ll see an option to ‘Share trip progress’.
