What better place to hold an education event than at a school? Apple's March Event took place at Lane Tech College Prep high school in Chicago at 10am today (4pm BST).
There was no live stream of the event, but you can catch a promo video of the new iPad it announced above. You can also read full details on the new iPad 9.7 2018 here.
In essence, the new iPad looks like its predecessor but has a new Apple A10 Fusion chip that makes it faster than the Chromebooks and Windows laptops with which it competes. It also builds in Apple Pencil support that opens a whole new world of creative learning opportunities.
The new iPad 9.7 will be available to pre-order today and ships this week. It costs £319 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model and £449 for the 32GB LTE model. A 128GB Wi-Fi version costs £409, or £539 with LTE.
US pricing for the new iPad is set at $329, with schools getting it for $299. That's for the 32GB model, while the 128GB version costs $429 for Wi-Fi only or $559 with LTE.
