Wireless Optical Desktop Elite model 1011 wontwork

I cannot get my Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite keyboard model 1011 to work on W10. I have tried downloading /installing(cd) Intellitype Pro 5.0 keyboard software but it keeps saying that it wont install as it may damage the operating system and cause it not to work properly.I have just a standard system (W10 home/i3 and 4gb ram and 1tb mem etc)Is there any drivers that I can download to make the keyboard and mouse work as they should do.

32 or 64bit?

you may need the appropriate drivers

quite often old windows drivers will work provided you have the right ones i.e. 32bit or 64 bit installed.
