windows media player

hi everyone,hope you can help,my windows media player will not work i get this message,the file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6001.7004 where 11.0.6001.7000 was expected windows player is not installed properly & must be restalled,i try there web site & tryed downloading it but it will not work it say that i must remove the old one first,what i want to know is there the updated one available & how do i remove the old one if i have to.

On Windows Vista:
Reboot your system.
Open cmd.exe as an administrator by selecting Start/All Programs/Accessories.
Right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
Type in
unregmp2.exe /UpdateWMPVersion
Press enter.
