Is Windows Defender good enough?

  Phil Ocifer 18:59 12 Aug 2013

New (well, 2 months old now) Acer i7 W8 laptop, just had McAfee free subscription run out and noticed that Windows Defender is available.

I've uninstalled McAfee (and used the MCPR tool) and have turned on Defender.

I've always sworn by AVG in the past, but if Defender is available and good enough, do I need anything else?

Bad experiences welcome as well as good ones. All answers acknowledged

Cheers Phil
