I've set my Win7-64 machine to backup to a USB Hard Drive regularly each week. After the first backup I thought that it would do incremental backups, but it does complete backups each time. How do I change this behaviour, please?
My 80 year old memory is not what it was, and that wasn't much, but I'm almost sure that I saw somewhere when I was setting up the first backup that later ones would only add those files which were new or which had changed!!
That phrase rings true as something which is standard. What is the use of a backup program which goes thro' all the same old rigmarole for the addition of one extra file. It beggars belief, but I suppose we'll have to put it down to the wonders of MS software writing. OK, so an operating system is a monumental achievement and who am I to belittle the work of mainly gifted people, but surely somebody ought to have asked the question before it was all graven in granite.
Any chance you know of a good backup program I could adopt?
