Windows 7 Security Center Question

I did a 'Generate a system health report' today and it reported that the security center has not recorded an anti-virus product, although I have Norton 2010 installed.

On the various forums on the net this seems to be a common problem which I assume has no known fix?

My question is,

can I safely assume that my Norton is working correctly and it is protecting my laptop.

I am on W7 and did check with your prompt. I have Avira, but the report said the same as yours. However in the Security Centre, Avira is shown as active and today, for the first time in a month, it told me it had blocked a virus.
There must be a quirk in the reporting system.

P.S. Looks like bad programing on behalf of the security programmers who need Windows to sell their stuff?
Possibly. I don't know but I wouldn't touch Norton with a barge pole. Still.
