Windows 7 screen of death

  Cheesywheelchair 19:26 15 Oct 2015

I was using my laptop when I restarted it it came up with a blue screen of death. It doesn't let me start in safe mode or in my last recent good boot. When I tried to reinstall windows 7 it won't let me when I use the windows 7 disk, it keeps restarting. I know its a software problem I need to know what went wrong and how to fix it. Thanks

Make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the DVD drive as the first boot device - save and exit F10.

sounds as if its still trying to boot from the bad hard drive.

I set the dvd drive to the defult start up and blue screen comes up. But when I removed the Harddrive and used the DVD drive the laptop then allowed to get pass the blue screen and select a language. Obviously I have no hard drive in the computer so I can't progress

Take the drive out couple it to another PC and run the disk checking tool from there on the old disk.
