Windows 7 boot up problem.

  madmike 01:26 13 Feb 2019

I'm having problems booting my computer, when booting it goes to repair windows, I run this but it tells me it can't fix the problems.I get a report of each action with Error 0x0, I try windows restore but no luck as no restore points are present, after restarting 4 -5 times it then boots, but runs slow and keeps locking up. I'm running Windows 7. I would be grateful for any ideas.

Error 0x0 - its the rest of the number we need to determin the problem.

I assume you do not have a back up?

I would first back up all important data photo docs serial numbers etc,

you could try running sfc / scannow from a command prompt and hope it completes before the machine locks up.

If you have a win 7 DVD you can boot from that to do a repair / or as long as you have your windows serial key you can download and make a win & dvd or usb to boot from and make repairs or even clean install

have you ever turned power off instead of proper shut down , if so you could have corrupted some reg bits.

ypu say you can sometimes get to desktop , have right click c drive/properties/tools/error check
