Windows 10 taskbar icons & menus going CRAZY

  Othmane MOUBARAK 14:32 08 Jun 2018

Hi guys, i need some help regarding some minor (but very annoying) issues in windows 10 : Whenever i right click on an icon on the taskbar, the menu would continue going up & looping Same thing happens in Windows Settings Some times happens also on the Photos software, some pictures would continue zooming in and out really fast

I've tried unplugging the Mouse & Keyboard, so none of them causes this

Here's a video showcasing the problem : click here

Start - Power - Restart (not shutdown) does the problem still occur after that?

Yes it does :/ i've restarted many times

There is a big difference between shutdown and restart shutting down win 10 and pressing the power on to boot up again is not restarting.

However it you've done the proper resstart and it's still the same then

open a command prompt (admin) or powershell (admin) and type

sfc /scanow

(including the space between c and /) press enter let windows scan for and replace missing or corrupt windows files (it will take awhile), on completeion type exit to close the window. Do a restart and see if the problem is cured.

I've tried restarting ( i have fast startup disabled ), starting w/o mouse, the problem is persisting

UPDATE : I've tried :

  • Uninstalling Mouse & Keyboard, didn't work
  • Booting into Safe mode => Worked, the problem doesn't happen in safe mode

PS : i can't use menu settings with this problem, which is quite annoying

There used to be a joke program that did this. Could it still be around?

i don't even know how to name the problem to search for possible solutions online :/

Found the solution, turns out my PS3 controller ( connected via SCP driver ) was in a weird position, never suspected the analog to be able to control windows menus x_x that's weird
