windows 10 fails install at configuration stage

  awest3 17:37 16 Dec 2015

Hi, I have a laptop running windows 10 build 10240 and I'm trying to update to the latest version. All goes ok until it gets to the final stage (configuration) when the machine just powers off. Other sites have suggested its overheating (apparently the install checks the temp at certain stages and if its over spec it shuts the machine down). So according to advice I've removed the battery, propped it up on a book or two and had a cold fan blowing on it, all to no avail! I do not get any messages nor can I find anything in the event log (presumably because the event log would be in the new operating system files rather than the resorted system). No sure where to go now any assistance greatly appreciated as ever. Thanks Al
