Windows 10 - Anniversary Update

When Win 10 Anniversary Update previously installed itself on my PC, it rendered my PC unusable, in that Desktop would show on boot up but clicking any icon had no effect. So, my PC was 'rolled back' to the previous state and has been working well since.

I would now like to update my PC with the Anniversary Update (having uninstalled conflicting software) but I don't know how to initiate this. On clicking 'Check for Updates' it says it's up to date.

Can someone please advise me as to how to proceed to update this, please?

Many thanks

Have a look here .

Also it's handy to know what vesrsion you have. Type winver in the search box, then click on the 'run command' in the list. That will show the version and the OS build.

Just to keep you up to date - I'm now running Win 10 Ver 1607 (OS Build 14393.447) - Anniversary update All seems to be running OK :)

Many thanks, rdave13, for pointing me in the right direction.

Your help is much appreciated :)
